- Californians overwhelming supported a woman’s right to choose
- We also supported arts and education for K-12 schools
- That Dialysis initiative that keeps showing up on our ballots was once again voted down
- And voters also upheld the flavored tobacco ban to help protect our children
- Across the country there is a heated tug of war between Democrats and Republicans as who will control the House and the Senate – votes are still being counted and it’s a very close race
- We’ve started to see layoffs in major firms which is causing recession fears:

- Netflix, Peloton, Snap, Twilio, Taboola and Twitter all announced layoffs this week
- Google/Alphabet has shut down its video streaming service, Stadia
- Amazon has frozen corporate hiring in its retail division
- Available jobs plummeted in August compared to July by more than 1 million open jobs signaling employers are pulling back on hiring as they contemplate ongoing economic uncertainty
- The US economy shrank for the second straight quarter
- Mortgage rates jumped to a 15 yr. high – rising to 7%+
